Hyosung
Setting up Hercules RMS is a three step process. The first step is done in the Hercules portal, the second step requires programming at the ATM, and the third step is verification of the setup. The following sections detail the process for Hyosung ATMs.
Note: Once Hercule RMS is configured correctly, we strongly recommend configuring ATMs for Insights as well. Doing so will ensure you experience the full benefits of the Hercules platform.
Hercules Portal Configuration
- Select the Devices icon from the left hand navigation and select the ATM you want to enable RMS on from the device list.
- Select the RMS tab from the top menu navigation then select the “RMS Enabled” toggle.
- Select Hyosung from the ATM Type dropdown menu that appears in the subsequent dialogue box then select “Enable RMS”.
*Older CDMA/2G Devices that use RMS may incur additional fees based on their billing plan. Contact your sales rep for more information.
- After enabling Hercules RMS in the Hercules Portal, you'll see configuration information for programming the ATM. You will need this information when you program the ATM for Hercules RMS.
ATM Configuration
Models 1500/1800 Standard Embedded
Modem 1500/1800 Standard embedded (phone line) are NOT supported with RMS.
Software Versions
Hyosung ATMs should be on version 06.02.03 or higher. Hyosung recommends this version or higher for enhanced security and stability with RMS and general transactions.
Models Using Windows 10
To enter the Operator Function menu:
1. Put the ATM in "Supervisor Mode" by toggling on the physical switch located inside the top rear of the ATM
Note: Toggling the physical switch on blocks inbound communication.
2. Enter the password to get into the Operator Function menu.
3. Complete the Configuration Steps listed below then toggle off the physical switch.
Note: If the physical switch is not toggled off, Health Checks will still be successful but RMS calls will fail because inbound communication will remain blocked.
Replacing a Hercules Modem
If replacing a Hercules modem in an ATM that is already configured for Hercules RMS you must perform the following steps:
- Install the new Hercules modem
- Perform a Test Transaction (or Download Keys etc.)
- Enable RMS again by selecting Retry Connection in the Hercules Portal
- Perform an RMS Connection Test
Configuration Steps:
- Perform a test transaction (bad pin, balance inquiry, other) to associate an ATM Terminal ID to the Hercules modem.
- Enter the OPERATION PROGRAM section on the Hyosung Terminal.
- Select HOST SETUP to navigate to the RMS section.
- Select REMOTE MONITOR.
- Select RMS EN/DISABLE to enable RMS RECEIVE.
- Select ATM LISTENING PORT then set the Port to 5555 if not already set.
- Return to the REMOTE MONITOR menu.
- Select CHANGE RMS PASSWORD and enter the RMS Password provided in the Hercules portal as described in Step 6 of the Hercules Portal Configuration section above.
- Press OK to return to the REMOTE MONITOR menu and select RMS STATUS SEND EN/DISABLE.
- Press STATUS SEND EN/DISABLE to enable STATUS SEND.
- Set the LISTENING PORT to 9999 if not already set.
- Set the ADDRESS to 192.168.0.53.
- Return to the RMS STATUS SEND screen and Press CONNECTION TEST to perform a test call.
- When the test succeeds you will see a “OPERATION SUCCESSFUL!“ message on the screen. The ATM is now registered with Hercules RMS.
Note: Older Hyosung models may not have a Test Connection button available. In these scenarios the test connection is performed after entering the RMS Address. If you received a “OPERATION SUCCESSFUL!” message after entering the RMS Address you do not need to perform a Test Connection.
- Back out of the Operator menu so that the RMS system can connect.
Note: Newer versions of Hyosung software will have a TLS option that needs to be disabled. You also perform the connection text by pressing the black key on the pin pad.
Hercules RMS Configuration Status Check in the Hercules Portal
- Return to the RMS Configuration section of the Hercules Portal and confirm that the Hercules RMS status is stating RMS Good, indicating a successful configuration.

Genmega
Setting up Hercules RMS is a three step process. The first step is done in the Hercules portal, the second step requires programming at the ATM, and the third step is verification of the setup. The following sections detail the process for Genmega ATMs.
Note: Once Hercule RMS is configured correctly, we strongly recommend configuring ATMs for Insights as well. Doing so will ensure you experience the full benefits of the Hercules platform.
Hercules Portal Configuration
- Select the Devices icon from the left hand navigation and select the ATM you want to enable RMS on from the device list.
- Select the RMS tab from the top menu navigation then select the “RMS Enabled” toggle.
- Select Genmega from the ATM Type dropdown menu that appears in the subsequent dialogue box then select “Enable RMS”.

- After enabling Hercules RMS in the Hercules Portal, you'll see configuration information for programming the ATM. You will need this information when you program the ATM for Hercules RMS.
Genmega ATM Setup
*Hercules RMS supports the following models: E4000, 1700, 1700W, 1900, G2500, GT3000, C4000, 4000T. RMS is NOT supported with models MB1000/MB2000, MB2100, or MB1500.
Note: If replacing a Hercules modem in an ATM that is already configured for Hercules RMS you must perform the following steps:
- Install the new Hercules modem
- Perform a Test Transaction (or Download Keys etc.)
- Enable RMS again by selecting Retry Connection in the Hercules Portal
- Perform an RMS Connection Test
Note: Genmega ATMs must have a valid ATM serial number entered to work properly with Hercules RMS.
ie: not 123456 , 000000, TYAB12345 etc. It should be the actual serial number of the ATM.
- Perform a test transaction (bad pin, balance inquiry, other) to associate an ATM Terminal ID to the Hercules modem.
- Enter the OPERATOR FUNCTION section on the Genmega Terminal.
- Select HOST SETUP to navigate to the RMS Section.
- Select REMOTE MONITOR.

Important * Make sure to set the RMS Password first before enabling RMS *
Select CHANGE RMS PASSWORD and enter the RMS Password provided in the Hercules Portal as described in Step 6 of the Hercules Portal Configuration section above.
Now select RMS RECEIVE EN/DISABLE to enable RMS RECEIVE.
- Select RMS HOST and set the IP and Port by selecting RMS SEND HOST IP and RMS RECEIVE PORT. Use the RMS Host IP and RMS Host Port displayed in the Hercules portal as described in Step 6 within the Hercules Portal Configuration section above. Press ENTER to confirm settings.
- Return to the REMOTE MONITOR menu and select RMS RECEIVE PORT. It should be set to the default of 18456. If it is not, set it to 18456.
- Return to the Remote monitor screen and select ENTER to perform a test call.
- When the test succeeds you will see a “TEST SUCCESS!! “ message on the bottom of the screen. The ATM is now registered with Hercules RMS and you can return to the Hercules Portal.
- Back out of the Operator menu so that the RMS system can connect.
Note: Newer Genmega firmware has SSL options for RMS. Using Hercules modems ensures a secure connection to our data centers. This needs to be disabled.
Hercules RMS Configuration Status Check in the Hercules Portal
- Return to the RMS Configuration section of the Hercules Portal and confirm that the Hercules RMS status is stating RMS Good, indicating a successful configuration.

- Select Triton from the ATM Type dropdown menu that appears in the subsequent dialogue box then select “Enable RMS”.

- After enabling Hercules RMS in the Hercules Portal, you'll see configuration information for programming the ATM. You will need this information when you program the ATM for Hercules RMS.
Triton ATM Configuration
Supported Triton models:
Note: If replacing a Hercules modem in an ATM that is already configured for Hercules RMS you must perform the following steps:
- Install the new Hercules modem
- Perform a Test Transaction (or Download Keys etc.)
- Enable RMS again by selecting Retry Connection in the Hercules Portal
- Perform an RMS Connection Test
- Perform a test transaction (bad pin, balance inquiry, other) to associate an ATM Terminal ID to the Hercules modem.
- Login to your ATM’s Management Functions Console.
- Select 6 Terminal Configuration.
- Then select 0 More Options.
- Then select 4 Triton Connect.
- You are now in the RMS Section. Select 1 Communication.
- Select 1 Primary Host Address
- Enter the RMS Host IP and RMS Host Port from the Hercules Portal as detailed in Step 6 within the Hercules Portal Configuration section above, then select Enter and Return which will return you to the Triton Connect Screen.
- Select 4 Enable Triton Connect to be show a checkmark.
- Select 0 Enter New Access Code.
- Enter the RMS Password from the Hercules Portal as described in Step 6 within the Hercules Portal Configuration section above. Press Enter when you are finished.
Note: Older Triton ATMs need to have “Enable Scheduled Journal Calls” and “Enable Call Back” in order to send.

- Return to the RMS Configuration section of the Hercules Portal and confirm that the Hercules RMS status is stating RMS Good, indicating a successful configuration.
