IMPORTANT:
The SP-1 Siren can only be used with the Protector GPS. Batteries should be replaced every 5 years or after 10 hours of cumulative, active alarming. To ensure comparable lifespan and performance, replacement batteries should be high quality alkaline batteries, similar to the ones originally supplied.
Equipment Supplied:
SP-1 Siren (batteries included/installed) | SP-1 Cable (CAB SP-1) | Magnets 2x | Velcro Adhesive Strips (3” x 1.5”) |
Installation:
1. Log in to the Hercules Portal, select the Hercules from the device list, and click the security tab.
2. Click the Disarm button and select 1 hour delay. This will disarm the Protector GPS for 1 hour. At the end of the installation you will manually arm the Protector GPS.
WARNING: Failure to disarm the Protector GPS before connecting the SP-1 Siren will sound its alarm. The Protector GPS must be powered in order to disarm.
3. Connect the white, female, 3 PIN connector of the SP-1 Cable to the SP-1 Siren’s power port.
4. Connect the black, male, 3 PIN connector of the SP-1 Cable to the Temperature port on the front of the Protector GPS.
Note: For ease of installation, both connector ends feature a piece of blue shrink wrap.
5. Connect the black, male, 4 PIN connector of the SP-1 Cable to the I/O Port on the back of the Protector GPS.
6. The siren has two holes in the top of the unit. One or both of these speaker holes should be placed inline with a hole/s in the upper cabinet of the ATM so the sound can properly escape. Attach either the magnets (preferred) or the velcro tabs to the siren on the side with the speaker holes, then attach the unit to the cabinet with the holes aligned with a cabinet hole/s.
7. Log into the Hercules portal and select the Security tab for the Hercules connected to the Protector GPS. You will now see the Siren connected to the Hercules/Protector GPS and you can begin testing the device.
8. Click the "Chirp Siren" button to test the siren. This will chirp the siren once for 100ms. This is the sound it will make when a tilt event / power cut / or door open warning occurs.
9. To test the sound of the siren fully alarming you can click the "Turn Siren On" button. You will see the siren status change to Siren Alarming and the icon will be animated. The siren will begin to alarm and you can then stop it by selecting the "Turn Siren Off" button. After a moment, the siren will then stop and return to its original state.
10. You can now click the "ARM" button in the top right to arm the Protector GPS. The siren will now activate when a tamper or theft event is detected. When armed the security status will appear with a locked symbol again.
Siren Triggers and Times:
When arming the system | Chirp once |
When disarming the system | Chirp 3 times |
When suppressing the system | Chirp 2 times |
Tilt (resets after 30 seconds) | Chirp once |
Open door or ethernet disconnected (Tamper) |
Chirp every 5 seconds for 60 seconds (Tamper warning) |
After warning of Tamper and no disable has been sent | Fully alarm for 5 minutes |
Any sensor disconnected (Doors, Tilt) | Fully alarm for 5 minutes |
Theft Detection (Power Cut & Tilt) | Fully alarm for 5 minutes |
*If you unplug the siren, it will trigger the tamper state. The siren will not sound once it’s disconnected but it will sound if plugged back in as the tamper has been triggered.
If you wait 15 minutes to plug it back in it will not sound.
*Sending arm/disarm/snooze/ or tamper reset is the only way to manually reset the tamper state. In all other cases the siren will reset once the alarm period has ended and no further tamper events are detected.
*You can temporarily disarm the Protector over SMS if you respond to the text message sent with the disarm code. You must have sms notifications enabled on your user account to receive these.
