Compatibility

The Protector GPS is compatible with the following Hercules Modems:

• 3G Hercules* - Serial number starts with 30 or 35. Single antenna.   
• Hercules Model: ATM-500 LTE
• Hercules+ Model: ATM-500 LTE 

To verify a Hercules serial number, refer to the decal on the top of Hercules modems or log in to the Hercules Portal and locate the Hercules in the device list to view its serial number.

To verify the Hercules model, refer to the decal on the top of the Hercules modem, log in to the Hercules Portal and navigate to the Diagnostics section of the device Settings tab to view it or contact DPL support.

Firmware Requirement

Hercules firmware must include the Protector GPS device class “+EPGPS”. 

Example: 

Firmware: 34-IP(GW)->CELL/ETH_WAN +EPGPS-9-2021110701

To verify whether your Hercules modem’s firmware includes the Protector GPS device class “+EPGPS”, log in to the Hercules Portal and navigate to the Diagnostics section of the device Settings tab to view the firmware details or contact DPL support.  

*U.S. cellular carriers are scheduled to shutdown their 3G networks by the end of 2022, which will prevent all 3G modems from being able to communicate permanently. For assistance with your 3G upgrades please speak with your DPL sales representative.
